Basics Salary: £32,000 - £40,000 Level: Mid-Level Industry: Environmental/ Carbon Project Developer Location: Office based -Maidenhead. (4 days per week in-office) Founded: 2021 About us At Onnu, our mission is to deliver what the world needs most – substantial and scalable carbon removal. Through a combination of our own projects and consultancy services, we help businesses transform their waste biomass into valuable biochar – removing carbon, reducing environmental impact and saving money. We do this using pyrolysis, a remarkable technology which offers renewable energy and carbon removal at the same time. Our largest project to date will be tackling the environmental crisis in the Wye Valley with the launch of localised pyrolysis hubs for poultry manure. This project is the first of its kind and we’re excited to be expanding the potential for innovative carbon removal projects Key Responsibilities: Reporting to the COO, day to day activities will include: Administrative Support: Assisting the COO with daily administrative tasks to ensure smooth operations. Office Management: Coordinating office operations, including supplies, equipment, and facility management. HR Administration including scheduling interviews and managing recruitment processes with the hiring manager Policies and Procedures: Helping to develop implement, and monitor company policies and procedures to ensure compliance across client sites. Compliance: Ensure all activities comply with relevant laws and regulations, conducting regular audits and updates. Management Systems: Assist in the implementation and maintenance of management systems to enhance operational efficiency. Contract Management: Assisting in managing contracts with clients and vendors, ensuring terms are met and renewals are timely. Assisting with forms (including but not limited to new supplier, technical, general information forms) Staff Equipment Management: Overseeing the distribution and maintenance of staff equipment, ensuring proper use and functionality. Client Management: Supporting Onnu in building strong relationships with clients, addressing inquiries and coordinating communications. Required Experience and Skills:. Minimum of 3 years in an Operations/Administrative role, preferably within the environmental or carbon project sector but not essential. Ability to manage and handle internal and external communications effectively. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional organisational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multitask. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and proactively. Familiarity with compliance requirements and best practices, particularly in environmental projects. (desirable) Experience with implementing and maintaining management systems. (desirable) Experience managing contracts, with a keen understanding of legal and business terms. (desirable) Experience managing office and staff equipment logistics. (desirable) Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with office management software.
