About the role…
The core responsibility of this role is to assist in the continued implementation of Quality, with particular emphasis on product quality, control of non-conformances, and subsequent investigations of any discrepancies.
Key duties include, but are not limited to:
1. Carry out product verification through inspection and or test including product verification and generation of First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRS).
2. Responsible for auditing of process routing, build book progression, verification of critical assembly steps, supporting accurate build and inspection records required.
3. Investigate any quality issues to identify root cause and raise appropriate corrective action paperwork and ensure issues are addressed and resolved.
4. Ensuring all incidents of non-conformance are recorded and controlling the MRB. Champion use of processes for management of non-conforming materials, ensuring materials are managed (dispositioned) in a timely manner. Control of Quarantine Area and Stock.
5. Continuous Improvement: investigating, identifying and rectifying issues affecting or likely to affect, Quality, Process, or Product, and escalating if unable to resolve.
6. Support and participate in process improvement activities when requested.
7. Ensuring the quality, environmental and health and safety requirements of the company, customer and regulatory authorities (ISO 9001) are fully complied.
What we’re looking for…
Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
1. The ability to read and accurately interpret drawings/specifications.
2. The ability to use Quality Instruments, i.e. Weld gauges, micrometers, steel ruler, etc.
3. UK driving licence
4. Exposure of working within a Manufacturing/Engineering environment (ideally on sub assembly components for either - Aerospace, MOD, Motorsport, Oil & Gas or Nuclear)
5. Driving Continuous Improvement/Lean manufacturing
