New! - our client, a leading Legal 100 firm, is now seeking an experienced Personal Injury Solicitor to join their highly regarded team based in Oxford.
We would like to speak with individuals who have advised on complex and high-value personal injury claims and are keen to specialise in this field. The successful candidate will ideally have a minimum of NQ-3 years expertise although candidates with more, or less, PQE are welcome to apply.
As a Solicitor/CiLEx you will consistently deliver a high standard of legal advice to clients in a commercially astute manner and always deliver outstanding client service. You will also be required to assist with the marketing of the department’s services and undertaking business development activities to build on the firm and team’s reputation for excellence.
Duties will include:
* To work in a team on a caseload of high value clinical negligence (and some personal injury) cases, under supervision.
* Deal directly with clients to take instructions and ensure full understanding in order to deliver on client expectations.
* Work closely with partners and senior lawyers to develop client relationship skills.
* Raise personal profile and attract delegated work.
* Take responsibility for aspects of business development projects in the department.
* Research and draft articles and assist with the production of marketing materials.
* Begin to develop a network of clients, contacts, and potential referrers; attend relevant networking events.
* Manage time recording, WIP monitoring and billing consistently on files and matters.
* Contribute to fee forecasting.
* Work toward personal and team KPIs, measuring performance against these.
Skills, Experience and Attributes:
* Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive NQ-3 PQE.
* Previous experience of clinical negligence & personal injury matters.
* Urdu speaker preferable.
* Ability to work in a team on high value cases.
* Strong client management skills with a focus on delivery of excellent client service.
* Organised and able to effectively prioritise.
Individuals should be familiar with complex, high-value cases, including brain and spinal injury, and should also be familiar with NHS reporting procedures. You will be expected to specialise in catastrophic injury litigation, frequently involving unusually sensitive issues and substantial awards of damages.
Within an established team, you will be involved in exceptional quality of work from day one, covering serious injuries as a result of RTAs, EL and PL resulting in brain injury, back injury and complex claims including:
* Claimant Personal Injury and Asbestos Disease
* Running intermediate track Personal Injury cases under supervision and some lower value multi-track cases
* Running asbestosis and pleural thickening cases undertaking supervision
* Assisting senior fee earners with high value multi-track personal injury and mesothelioma cases
* Submitting Applications via the Diffuse Mesothelioma Payment and Turner & Newall systems
The ideal person can demonstrate excellent academics (ideally a 2.1 degree in Law) having trained at a City, Regional or Legal 500 firm.
* Solid exposure to personal injury litigation and/or clinical negligence experience is essential.
