Due to continued growth across central Scotland and northwest England, Deeside Timberframe, one of the UK’s leading timber frame suppliers, have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their surveying team.
Based at our facility in Throsk, Stirling you will be responsible for managing and carrying out all aspects of quantity surveying across supply and erect contracts, supply only contracts and single site projects.
Primary responsibilities:
* Managing the commercial team across all contracts.
* Compilation and submission of client/main contractor applications for payment.
* Scrutinising and addressing contract documentation at the pre-contract stage. Ensuring that documents are signed and returned to our clients.
* Dealing with all contract issues of a commercial nature.
* Dealing with clients and main contractors, from pre-start meeting through to final accounting and debt collection.
* Procurement of kit-erect subcontractors and the issue of subcontract documentation. On-going assessment of the same to ensure cost efficiency.
* Managing, overseeing, processing and issuing regular subcontract payments.
* Managing, overseeing, compiling, negotiating, and agreeing final accounts with main contractors and subcontractors.
* Re-measurement of value related items, where necessary.
* Maintenance of all files and records relating to our contracts and the issue of project documentation to contracts managers or supervisors as required.
* Assisting the commercial team, our contract managers and supervisors with site related commercial issues from main contractors and subcontractors.
* Attending pre-award meetings, where required.
* Assisting with the compilation of Health and Safety documentation relating to our subcontractors.
* Managing, overseeing retention recovery from the clients and main contractors.
* Managing, overseeing CVR monitoring and interface with all other parts of the business on this (i.e. estimating, procurement, design, production, supervisor etc).
* Regularly updating the Financial Director with regard to any commercial issues that may influence the financial position of contracts.
* Contribute and assist with any growth plans and future developments of the business across central Scotland and NW England.
Skills and experience required:
* Previous experience of managing a team
* Previous experience working in a sub-contractor environment is preferred
* Experience in the timber frame industry is desirable but not essential
* Proficient in MS Office
Qualifications:
* Quantity Surveying qualification would be beneficial but not essential if appropriate experience and skills can be demonstrated
