Role Responsibility Kent County Council Highways Transportation and Waste are looking to expand their Structures Team by recruiting a motivated Technical Support Officer (TSO) looking to work in a dynamic working environment and support the Structures Team by undertaking various administrative and financial works. The Structures Team are part of the Highways business unit, which is responsible for approving, inspecting, repairing and maintaining KCC highways. The aim of the Team is to keep KCC highways safe and provide the best highway service to Kent’s residents, visitors and businesses whilst ensuring the sustainability and cost effectiveness of any proposals. The Technical Support Officer role is a KR6 grade, part-time role and flexible working requests will be considered. The role will be based in KCC’s Ashford Kroner House office although staff may be required to work from other offices when necessary and may work from home when not required in the office The post holder will provide support by undertaking various administrative and financial works. General administration duties for the team including scanning, archiving, filing and communications as necessary. Assist with scheduling meetings, taking minutes and keeping track of agreed actions and deadlines, issuing agendas, minutes and actions to meeting attendees. Process monthly and quarterly finances including collating timesheets, raising invoices for development schemes, email updates to developers and liaising with the Finance Team to ensure invoices are paid and schemes are sufficiently funded. Raise Purchase Orders and payment of invoices on KCC’s procurement systems Undertake Structures Development tasks on the Structures Asset Management Database. Manage the Structures Development inbox and customer service module (Confirm) and assign tasks to relevant team members as necessary. Document collation and formatting to assist developers in producing Health and Safety Files and Operation and Maintenance Manuals at scheme close out. Assist with scheme close out by organising handover files for Structures Maintenance Team and collating relevant data. You will be required to provide assistance to other teams within the GET directorate, or any other part of KCC, from time to time as and when your skills and knowledge are required for particular projects and initiatives.
