Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and hardworking apprentice to join our friendly team. As an integral part of our team, you will work closely with your colleagues, contributing to various tasks and projects. This role requires strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
Wage
£16,000 a year
£15,000 - £18,000 per annum (dependent on experience) for the first 12 months, rising to at least the National Minimum Wage for your age thereafter.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
* Working towards preparing financial statements for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
* Assisting with the production of management accounts, VAT returns, and tax computations
* Support in the preparation of personal tax returns for a range of businesses
* Learning to use a range of accounting and practice management software (QuickBooks, Dext, Xero, TaxCalc, etc)
* Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations
* Creating and maintaining a range of accounting spreadsheets using Microsoft excel
* Providing excellent client service and building strong relationships through direct client liaison
* General finance admin tasks as and when required

* Assist with the investigation and response to financial information queries.
* Record and analyse financial data using the organisation’s standard tools and processes.
* Apply double entry bookkeeping and accounting standards to process financial documents, generate financial statements and report financial information to users of accounts.
* Assist with production of accurate financial information for the preparation of accounts.
* Reconcile financial data, such as, preparation of reconciliations or review of reconciliations.
* Investigate, resolve or escalate transactional queries and errors within their remit as appropriate.
* Develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders.
* Communicate financial information in a way that non-finance stakeholders can interpret and understand.
* Utilise digital skills to present key financial information using finance and accounting software and applications.
* Use software packages to assist with basic accounting tasks in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.
* Communicate using varying approaches and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.

Your training plan
* At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying, with 1 day per week spent attending remote training sessions with your AAT tutor.

Expected Apprenticeship Duration: 15 months + 3 months EPA to gain the AAT Level 3 Apprenticeship qualification.
