Typical day as a Support Worker
• Start your day knowing you're making a difference by assisting our customers with daily living tasks, making each day brighter and more manageable for them.
• Dive into personalised support by helping customers with budgeting, meal preparation, and shopping, promoting independence at every step.
• Be a friendly face and a helping hand, accompanying our customers to appointments, ensuring they have the support they need, when they need it.
• Engage in meaningful interactions, supporting our customers to connect with their communities and embrace social opportunities.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team, bringing together your skills to create a supportive and nurturing environment for our customers.
• Document and share the progress, keeping accurate records that contribute to the well-being and support of our customers.

You bring
• A passion for supporting vulnerable individuals, motivated by the desire to make positive and lasting changes in their lives.
• Experience in care or support roles, with a keen understanding of safeguarding, risk assessments, and confidentiality.
• Empathy and the ability to maintain appropriate boundaries, paired with the resilience to manage challenging behaviours.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to motivate and encourage others with patience and understanding.
• Flexibility to work on a 24-hour rota basis, accommodating the varying needs of our customers with a readiness to adapt.
• A commitment to continuous learning and development, embracing opportunities to enhance your skills and contribute to the professional growth of our team.
Due to limits on our current certificates of sponsorship, we are not able to offer sponsorship to external candidates for this role. This remains under regular review.

You’ll join Manager Rea and our ABS Gloucestershire team, we’re super passionate about what we do! We’re really proud of insert current project or recent team achievement. We’re a supportive bunch and like to insert social or work fun.
Job details
• Flexible working hours (or we’re open to agreeing a work pattern with you)
• Where we’re flexible with you, we do need to meet the needs of our customers. That may mean adapting your start or finishing times on occasion.
• Work pattern is a rolling Rota with some weekends.
• Able to use technology to update support plans, complete online learning and to collaborate with colleagues.
• You’ll need an Enhanced DBS check done and we pay for that.
