The Lantern Community is a unique and inclusive home for 53 residents (adults with diverse abilities) and welcomes over 20 day placements from the local area. Placed in 15 acres of beautiful Hampshire countryside, we provide meaningful opportunities through our 9 workshops, fostering independence, creativity, and a supportive community.
About the Role:
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated individual to support our residents in achieving their full potential for independence. As part of our team, you will:
1. Facilitate activities that encourage personal development.
2. Implement tailored support and care plans through one-to-one or shared support.
3. Provide assistance in areas such as relationship and emotional support, cooking, cleaning, and other daily living skills, promoting independence, confidence, and a positive self-image.
About You:
We are seeking someone who:
1. Has a warm, person-centred approach and can positively engage with individuals with diverse learning abilities.
2. Possesses strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
3. Works effectively as part of a team.
4. Brings experience in supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, or other needs.
5. Demonstrates good written communication skills for contributing to our record-keeping system.
6. Holds a Level 2/3 qualification in Health and Social Care (preferred but not essential; training will be provided).
7. Is a UK resident with satisfactory references and a DBS check.
8. Has a driving licence (preferred but not required).
