Band 8b Senior ACP - 37.5 hours per week
We are looking to appoint dynamic and forward-thinking Qualified Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) to join our already established team senior RCEM Credentialed ACP's to work within the Emergency Department at the Cumberland Infirmary Carlisle and West Cumberland Hospital Whitehaven. We are looking for clinicians with commitment, flexibility, enthusiasm, excellent clinical skills, and who are keen to work as part of a hardworking and dedicated team.
They will demonstrate safe, critical decision-making in the clinical decision-making process and will work collaboratively with Consultants and multi-disciplinary team to meet the needs of patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedure. They will work to ensure wherever possible that junior medical staff are enabled to meet their training and development requirements.
Main duties of the job
Advanced clinical practice embodies the ability to manage clinical care in partnership with individuals, families and carers. It includes the analysis and synthesis of complex problems across a range of settings, enabling innovative solutions to enhance people's experience and improve outcomes.
The post holder will practise independently as part of the senior Advanced Clinical Practitioner tier and supported by the consultant led emergency medicine team. This clinically focussed role will encompass the skills of overall departmental coordination, clinical floor management responsibilities, education, leadership and mentorship. This will result in the post holder providing exemplary patient-centred and sound evidenced based care to patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems accessing the Emergency Department (ED) and seeing those patients with the greatest need.
The post holder will provide senior clinician support, second opinion advice (where there are intra-professional differences of opinion) and shop-floor support to junior clinicians during a span of duty within and across all areas of the Department and to other speciality teams over a 24 hour period, 7 days a week on a rotational basis.
The post holder will be a senior clinician with highly developed interpersonal and communication skills and clinical attributes, enabling him/her to provide expert/specialist clinical and professional support to other clinicians and staff.
