Reed Accountancy and working with a growing Newbury based business seeking a Finance Manager to oversee the financial operations of three small entities, including one based in Ireland and two in the UK. This role is ideal for someone with experience in small company accounting, VAT returns, and payroll management. As our client anticipates growth in early 2025, the responsibilities of this role will expand, offering a dynamic and evolving work environment. Day-to-day of the role: Manage full cycle Accounts Payable, expenses, and Accounts Receivable. Handle payroll for currently 14 people, with expectations to increase to 16-17 within the next 6 months. Conduct month-end close processes. Prepare and submit VAT returns, including managing overseas VAT transactions. Utilise financial software such as Xero and Quickbooks effectively. Manage foreign currency transactions. As the entities grow, additional responsibilities may include some office management tasks and potentially arranging travel, requiring flexibility and a willingness to adapt to diverse duties. Required Skills & Qualifications: Proven experience in managing finances for small companies, including handling VAT returns and payroll. Proficiency in using financial software like Xero and Quickbooks. Strong understanding of foreign currency transactions. Excellent communication skills, capable of effective interaction via email, calls, and in-person. A proactive attitude, open to taking on additional responsibilities as the company grows.
