We are looking for a Maintenance Controller to work within the BDUK Vertical Lift Operations Team in the delivery of Chinook and Apache Base Maintenance and Modification upgrades at Middle Wallop. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, this is a key role which provides accountability and management of the Chinook maintenance events. This is enabled by having control, oversight and supervision of a multidiscipline team of maintenance control staff to carry out the planning, day-to-day oversight, and control of the maintenance event.

Responsibilities
1. MRO Maintenance controllers will be responsible for the delivery and execution of Base Maintenance and/or modification upgrades on aircraft or multiple aircraft within the operational environment.
2. Leadership of the Maintenance Planning and Control Team to deliver the assigned input.
3. Ensuring their team/s understand the requirements, with regard to work undertaken/completed, in accordance with the relevant planned work instruction, Engineering Instruction or ATP.
4. Ensuring sufficient resource is available to meet aircraft schedule milestones and on-time completion of work.
5. Customer interface during the aircraft input phase.
6. Completing all workload to budget and ensuring that emerging work is correctly captured as Over and Above.
7. Managing the integration of emerging and scheduled Over and Above work within the scheduled workload.
8. Carrying out 3rd Signature Co-ordination of maintenance packages.
9. Control and management of defects arising from a Maintenance input or modification.
10. Creating and managing metrics to track check performance including accurate daily reporting to Internal key stakeholders and customers.
11. Participating in Continual Improvement workshops as a Subject Matter Expert, when required.
Examples of key tasks include:
1. Ensuring safety of personnel working in and around the aircraft remains the number one priority at all times.
2. Leading a multi-disciplined Operations support team encompassing aircraft maintenance planning, scheduling and documentation control functions.
3. Day-to-day monitoring and coordination of the operations team for the Input Maintenance phase.
4. Production, embodiment and adherence to the plan/schedule to deliver the aircraft to the customer on time with first time quality standard.
5. Control and management of defects arising from maintenance or modification.
6. Control of deferred maintenance and requests to Mil CAMO.
7. Final Examination of tasks (3rd Signatory).
8. Acceptance/Rejection of additional work requests during Input phase.
9. Management of the Aircraft/Component log books (MoD Form F700).
10. Certification of Maintenance documentation on MoD F700, GOLDesp, GOLDesp MRO as required.
11. Work package closure (GOLDesp MRO, MoD form 700, GOLDesp).
12. Scheduling and Chairing Post Inspection and Post Check Reviews.
13. Generating the Bill of Materials for each lot of aircraft.
14. Daily reporting on check progress to key stakeholders via tiered meeting structure.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
1. Highly experienced in scheduled maintenance, repair and modification, with demonstrable experience of leading teams in an aerospace environment. Chinook experience is desirable.
2. Ability to gain the required experience/competencies to gain 3rd signature authority.
3. A good communicator, technical and non-technical, with the ability to effectively engage across multiple Functions and levels, both internally and with the customer.
4. Demonstrable and proven working knowledge of MAA Regulatory Articles (RA), MAA Regulatory Publication (MRP) Part 145, BDUK MRP 145 MOE, aviation Quality Assurance (QA) and Safety Management System (SMS) processes.
5. Capable of providing leadership to their team/s, maintaining a scheduled plan, sequencing and control of demanding workloads.
6. Capable of understanding and interpreting Technical Documents, Technical Drawings and/or associated Authorised Technical Publications (ATP’s).
Work Authorisation:
