Health and Safety Administrator & Waste Lead Permanant Southend 37.5 Competitive Salary Spire Wellesley Hospital in Southend have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Health and Safety Administrator to join our team. This is a permanent position working Mon - Fri 9:00am - 17:00pm We are looking to bring on a Health & Safety Administrator to join our established team. You will be supporting the Health and Safety Officers & Manager in coordinating and implementing the delivery of Health & Safety at the facility and ensuring the provision of high quality and safe care and services at all times. You will also be expected to lead the hospital Management of Waste program and to ensure that it is managed effectively and reported in line with Spire Policy Waste Management. Duties and responsibilities General Admin duties including but not limited to, creation of PowerPoint programs for Health and safety Training, meetings etc. Minute taking at H&S and other meetings as requested. Checking, recording, and reporting of safety systems. Compilation of safety data and trends. Regularly update internal health and safety communication including safety noticeboards and alerts. Compile log, monitor and escalate items relating to H&S concerns. Function as site safety contact in H&S absence. Assist completion and right up of Health and safety audit alongside H&S Manager Coordinate and update annual health and safety program. Monitor Datix reports for action or escalation. Support and advise staff in Waste Management processes against waste regulations, Legislation, HTM 07-01 and WM01 policy. Ensuring that there are suitable and sufficient storage arrangements for several types of waste. Ensure that there are suitable waste bins in place around the hospital for all waste types. Ensure there are recycling processes in place. In line with all waste initiatives Attending training for conducting Waste audits and assessments as requested. Conducting regular waste meetings agreed with the Hospital Director and Health and Safety Participation in quarterly health and safety inspections, and spot inspections for compliance to safe storage and disposal of waste Completion of an annual internal waste compliance audit and submission of report to the Central Health and Safety team Attend training and conference calls as and when required. Provide internal training and communication on several types of waste procedures to all departments within the facility Who we're looking for Good standard of secondary education with demonstrable literacy and numeracy skills. Previous experience of a multi-functional role where flexibility is essential and experience working in the healthcare industry or a similar customer orientated organisation. Ideally comes with 3 years of administration experience.
