Due to retirement, an exciting opportunity has arisen for you to join the Infection Prevention and Control / Tissue Viability team at Manchester University Foundation Trust. We are seeking to appoint an accomplished, experienced Infection Prevention & Tissue Viability nurse with strong management skills and specialty knowledge.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support, acting as an expert advisory resource, and deputizing for the lead nurse in their absence. If you consider yourself to be a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual with demonstrable specialty experience within Infection Prevention, and you possess strong leadership skills then we would like to hear from you.
The successful candidate will be predominantly based in the community.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will ensure the key functions of the Matron for Infection Prevention and Control/Tissue Viability Nursing are undertaken for the Trust through effective and clear leadership, ensuring the monitoring and maintenance of robust Infection Prevention and Control/Tissue Viability standards of practice are maintained and embedded within the Trust. Ensuring key processes are in place to support all Trust employees, patients, and visitors with maintaining required standards in order to deliver harm-free care to our users and protection of our employees. Oversee the delivery of multi-professional training programmes, surveillance, collaborative multidisciplinary working, interagency working and contributing to clinical governance arrangements across the Trust.
The successful person will manage a team of Infection Prevention and Control/Tissue Viability Nurses across the locality providing day-to-day line management and supervision.
As an integral part of the Trust’s Infection Prevention and Control/Tissue Viability Team, the post holder will provide advice and support and act as an expert advisory resource.
The successful candidate will support the Lead Nurses for Infection Control/Tissue Viability in the management, leadership and development of the Infection Prevention and Control/Tissue Viability Nursing Service, deputizing for the Lead Nurse Infection Control/Tissue Viability as required.
