Job summary The Infection Prevention and Control Team at East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust are looking to recruit a talented and enthusiastic Infection Prevention and Control Specialist Nurse/Practitioner. We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and suitably experienced individual. The ideal candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and must be able to work autonomously as well as within a team. The candidate must be able to travel/drive across all sites as required. Main duties of the job Provide advice and support to Nurses/Midwives/AHPs and multi-disciplinary colleagues within infection prevention and control To work as a highly visible member of the Infection Prevention and Control Specialist Nursing Team (under the supervision of the site-based Clinical Nurse Specialist/Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist), visiting all wards/departments regularly and participating in all activities related to the identification, prevention, monitoring and control of healthcare associated infection To assist in the investigation and control of notifiable diseases and "alert" organisms To act as an advisor in all matters relating to the prevention and control of infection, where specific medical advice is not required About us We are one of the largest hospital trusts in England, with five hospitals and community clinics serving a local population of around 800,000 people.
