Manage workshop production to ensure projects meet quoted hours and budgets. Monitor capacity and advise management on potential shortfalls or overtime needs. Update job statuses and assist in forward production planning. Oversee transport of subcontracted work and materials, ensuring accurate documentation and reporting defects or discrepancies. Support the estimating process as needed. Commercial Duties: Collate daily job sheets and review non-productive time. Conduct stock audits, address stock discrepancies, and request purchase orders for consumables. Health & Safety: Ensure risk assessments and method statements are followed, and report noncompliance. Ensure proper use of PPE and maintain up-to-date HSE records. Report accidents and near misses and ensure the team understands reporting procedures. Maintain a clean, safe working environment, following fire and safety regulations. Quality Control: Ensure all work follows company procedures and ISO 9001 standards. Maintain material traceability and documentation for costing. Ensure subcontractors and staff comply with company HSE, quality, and environmental policies. Provide continuous improvement feedback to management. Team Leadership: Motivate and develop staff for optimal performance. Conduct daily briefings, tool box talks, and address any performance issues. Ensure new employees are properly inducted and trained. Communicate training needs and ensure tasks are completed during staff absences. Your Experience? Essential Client facing (ability to liaise with customers and suppliers) Working to engineering standards. Experience with pipe fitting Experience supervising a workshop team within the industry IT literate (computer skills) Desirable Experience of structural fabrications Experience of vessel manufacture NEBOSH (willing to work towards) And in return you get?
