UCT is looking for a talented Engineer Technician to join us in Scarborough, ME!
The Engineering Technician will develop and optimize economical industrial processes to clean the huge range of products on which cutting-edge manufacturing depends. The work is concerned with chemical, mechanical, thermal, and electrical processes in which raw materials undergo change, and involves scaling up processes from the laboratory into the processing plant. Responsibilities involve designing equipment, understanding the reactions taking place, installing control systems, and starting, running, and upgrading the processes. Environmental protection and health and safety aspects are also key to this role.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Develops and maintains process documents, drawings, etc.
* Maintains, evaluates, and assists in the design of production tooling (fixtures, baskets, etc.) required for efficient, effective part processing.
* Monitors the effectiveness of production processes and supports problem resolution.
* Monitors process materials (chemicals, powders, gases, blast media, etc.) and recommends changes as necessary.
* Monitors process parameters (pressures, temperatures, concentration, contamination, etc.) and uses established databases to maintain logs, generate reports, and charts.
* Maintains existing standard operating procedures and recommends revisions to improve productivity, effectiveness, and safety.
* Executes designed experiments and work instructions to gather data for process changes and customer evaluations.
* Assists in the development of training material and supports on-the-job training (OJT).
* Participates in CAPA resolution, defect and failure analysis, costs and time studies, internal and external audits, and preventative actions.
* Participates in projects as assigned to improve systems, operations, and cross-functional collaboration.
* Follows all EH&S standards, including proper use of personal protective equipment.
* Alerts Supervisor of EH&S concerns to ensure unsafe conditions are documented and corrected.
* Acts to ensure the facility is presentable to customers and other visitors.
* Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of the Company.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
* Effective verbal and written communication skills.
* Demonstrable understanding of production, engineering & quality initiatives, and safety & quality practices.
* Able to complete assignments in a timely manner while adhering to deadlines and with a sense of urgency.
* Familiarity with parts clean processing, semiconductor tool consumables, semiconductor technology, and critical cleaning technology.
* High-level troubleshooting skills coupled with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
* Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and other software.
* Proficiency in related mathematical and scientific calculations including proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume, and other measurements.
* Ability to understand and apply concepts and algorithms in algebra, geometry, and engineering at a college level.
* Ability to work collaboratively with individuals at all levels, both within and outside the organization.
* Able to successfully prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Educational/Certification Requirement:
* High school diploma or GED.
Experience Requirement:
* 1+ years related experience in parts cleaning and coating technology, preferably in semiconductor manufacturing support or related industry.
