Annual salary: up to £38,000.00 Fire Safety Compliance Officer Milton Keynes – Woodlands Business Park Full time / Permanent – 42.5 hours per week Salary up to £38,000 per annum About the Role The Fire Safety Compliance Officer will play a critical role within the Fire and Building Safety Team, supporting the delivery of fire safety compliance across Mears Group's housing portfolio. Reporting to the Head of Fire and Building Safety, the post-holder will be responsible for reviewing Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) outputs, ensuring remedial actions are compliant, and coordinating delivery with internal stakeholders and subcontractors. This role ensures technical compliance, regulatory adherence, and operational excellence, while supporting the growth of Mears' fire safety services in the housing sector. The post-holder will work collaboratively with branches, surveyors, and contractors to maintain high-quality fire safety compliance across Mears' stock, supporting internal and external clients. Role Criteria: FRA Review and Compliance: Review completed Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs) to ensure accuracy, compliance with relevant legislation, and alignment with Mears' fire safety standards. Identify any gaps or discrepancies and work with internal stakeholders to address issues promptly Remedial Action Oversight: Track and monitor remedial actions arising from FRAs, ensuring timely completion and compliance with fire safety regulations. Collaborate with surveyors, subcontractors, and operational teams to prioritise and resolve issues Quality Assurance: Assess the quality and compliance of FRA outputs delivered by internal surveyors and external subcontractors, ensuring adherence to Mears' standards and regulatory requirements. Coordination and Collaboration: Coordinate remedial works and actions with internal stakeholders, including branch teams, operational managers, and subcontractors. Act as the key point of contact for fire safety compliance queries Data Management and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of FRA outputs, remedial actions, and compliance status.
