Our client, a leading civil engineering contractor, is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to work on a substation project in Fasnakyle. This landmark project will help unlock Scotland’s vast renewable energy potential and significantly enhance the UK’s ability to supply clean energy to around two million homes. Your expertise will be instrumental in the success of this venture, and they are eager to welcome a skilled professional to their team.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the commercial management of a major power sector project, ensuring strong financial performance and compliance.
Develop and implement commercial strategies to maximise profitability and mitigate risk.
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of quantity surveyors and other commercial professionals.
Handle contract negotiations, procurement processes, and supplier relationships.
Provide strategic guidance on contractual matters, dispute resolution, and risk management.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
Qualifications and Skills:
Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
Extensive experience as a Commercial Manager in the construction or power sector.
Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement, and commercial management.
Proven leadership and team management skills.
Excellent negotiation, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
Professional accreditation (RICS, CIOB, etc.) is desirable but not essential.
