Post: Registered Manager Project: Childrens Residential Home Area: Northern Ireland Base:Downpatrick Employment Type: Initial a 9 Month Maternity Cover with the potential to become a Permanent Position Contract: Full Time Contract Salary: £45,448.00 per a Year Extra Shifts paid as Overtime Key Responsibilities: Service Delivery: Provide a caring service, ensuring safety and wellbeing of young people, staff, and the public. Team Leadership: Build a positive team culture, oversee rostering, facilitate meetings, and address performance issues as directed by the Registered Manager. Staff Development: Lead staff development through Professional Development Plans, coaching, and identifying areas for improvement. Risk Management: Complete risk assessments, safety plans, and Positive Behaviour Support Plans. Incident Management: Review and address incident trends, conduct incident reviews with staff, and update documentation accordingly. Stakeholder Engagement: Attend multi-agency meetings and collaborate with external partners involved in care. On-Call Support: Participate in a rota-based 24-hour on-call system to provide direct support to staff. Care Planning: Oversee care planning, supporting young people in their daily routines and ensuring their needs are met. Compliance: Ensure the service complies with regulatory standards, safeguarding policies, and relevant regulations. Support staff in meeting these expectations. Supervision & Appraisals: Conduct monthly supervision, annual appraisals, and probation meetings. Continuous Improvement: Strive for outstanding ratings from regulators and support the team in addressing inspection feedback. Other Responsibilities: Ensure the highest standards of care in physical, behavioural, and emotional needs of young people. Role model and adhere to the organisation's policies and procedures. Evaluate the effectiveness of care plans, ensuring young people participate in their care. Promote a safe, nurturing, and comfortable environment for young people. Flexibility in shift work, including sleepovers, with no guaranteed time off requests. Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and web browsers. Essential Qualifications and Experience: Qualifications: Degree or diploma in Social Work (essential); Level 3 Leadership and Management (desirable). Experience: Minimum 2 years working with traumatised young people, including lone working. Minimum 2 years in staff management, ideally in a Registered Childrens Home. Experience working with regulators such as RQIA and stakeholders (Health and Social Care Boards). Knowledge: Strong understanding of legislation and frameworks for children's residential services. Familiarity with NISCC Code of Conduct and Standards. Other Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication. Leadership and team development skills. Ability to be on-call at least 4 days a week. Additional Requirements: Full UK Driving Licence (held for at least 1 year, with no more than 3 penalty points). Enhanced Access NI check and NISCC Part 1 registration.
