About the role Ramboll has ambitious growth plans in the UK and its thriving Building Services business is central to these growth plans. Ramboll aspires to grow their UK Building Services team by 30% over the next few years. Further strengthening and growing our specialist expertise is central to that, including growing our utilities and development infrastructure design capabilities to support our project teams and clients with utilities interfaces, applications and designs. As an Associate Utilities and Development Infrastructure Engineer, you should have proven experience of utilities in the construction sector and will play a leading role on projects across the UK to manage the process of design, procurement, reinforcement and diversion and of utility infrastructure for both single building projects and as part of wider masterplan works. This includes knowledge of the relevant legal processes, planning, design, technical consents process, adoption and contract procedures for utilities to new developments and regeneration projects and how if, applied effectively, these skills combine to add value to a client’s development proposal Main Role Responsibilities: Be the primary point of contact for all aspects of utilities and development infrastructure design with the Building Services team. Manage and undertake the design and production of technical design information including reports, drawings and specifications for utilities and infrastructure works. Oversee and produce infrastructure masterplans, site appraisals, technical reports, design calculations and construction drawings. Lead and develop utility connections, diversions and strategies for our projects across the UK. Liaise with clients, co-professionals and design teams to negotiate the necessary outline and detailed technical approvals and statutory agreements relating to projects. Co-ordinate tasks on projects so all deadlines are met and allocate resource appropriately. Assist with the production of proposals for new commissions and undertaking project management and financial control of small to medium sized projects. Communicate effectively with team members, co-professionals and other parts of the Ramboll business on all aspects of utilities and development infrastructure. For this role, we believe your starting point is: Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) and Chartered Engineer, having a proven and demonstrable track record in your discipline. Previous experience with leading and delivering major utilities and development infrastructure designs. Solid client facing skills, experienced at presenting to clients, preparing and negotiating proposals, and procuring project resources. Demonstration of aptitude for team and project leadership. Effective English oral and written communication skills.
