Job Overview
VANRATH are supporting another leading employer for NI, in their search for a Support Worker to join the organisation on a temporary basis. The purpose of the role will be to provide a support network for individuals and wider communities.
* Salary: £14 - £15.40/hour
* Belfast
* Temporary ongoing
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one-to-one support to individuals with mental health issues, helping improve their wellbeing.
* Develop personalised support plans with individuals and relevant partners.
* Assist individuals in accessing local services and resources.
* Offer practical support, including financial advice, and help with additional services.
* Encourage participation in wellbeing activities and self-help programmes.
* Help individuals reduce social isolation through community-based initiatives.
* Maintain accurate and confidential records of support provided.
* Advocate for individuals with agencies such as debt collectors and family support services.
* Take part in reflective practice and share feedback for service improvement.
Essential Criteria:
* At least one year of experience working with vulnerable individuals, with education at A level or equivalent.
* Familiarity with support systems, and basic knowledge of housing, benefits, and health-related issues.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to keep clear and accurate records.
* Organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
* Ability to work independently and build positive relationships with clients.
* Competence in managing difficult situations and maintaining professional boundaries.
* Attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
* Access to a car and ability to travel as required.
