The Food Standards Agency (FSA) is a small government department with a big mission: to keep food safe, ensure that it is what it says it is, and that it is increasingly healthy and more sustainable. Our risk assessment teams play an integral role in this work, delivering science-led advice and guidance regarding which products are safe for consumers.
We are looking for a Team Leader for our Regulated Products Risk Assessment process. You will lead, develop and empower your colleagues to deliver invaluable risk assessment and technical advice around food additives, flavourings and food contact materials.
Job description
Offering leadership and experience that will increase our capabilities, you will deliver a range of risk assessments through applying your technical knowledge and collaborative working with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
You will also ensure that we are prepared for the changes ahead of us, working with colleagues to develop the FSA�s risk assessment process for the approval of regulated products, and as a technical lead for research projects that will keep science at the heart of our response to industry innovations.

Qualifications
�A scientific degree in a relevant discipline ( Chemistry, Biochemistry, Toxicology) and or equivalent understanding of the scientific issues associated with regulated products
�A post-graduate qualification in a relevant scientific subject (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Toxicology) and or significant experience working in a position with responsibility for food/feed safety or public health-related risk assessment
