Middlesbrough Council’s Public Protection Service is passionate about improving the lives and living standards of all its residents, protecting the environment, protecting customer interests, and supporting a strong local economy.
We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for an experienced Principal Public Protection Officer to join our Public Protection Service. Alongside other principal officers and service managers, you will take a lead role in our Private Sector Housing team, focusing on the licensing and management of houses in multiple occupation, investigating substandard housing conditions and other housing-related issues, undertaking research and developing intelligence on the local private sector housing market, developing housing support and enforcement strategies, and supporting the delivery of selective landlord licensing and additional licensing schemes.
You will also work across the wider Public Protection functions and on corporate matters such as emergency planning.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have considerable knowledge and experience in these fields and who have proven skills, experience, and qualifications.
If you are looking for a challenging and rewarding role, are resilient, adaptable to change, and have good interpersonal skills, we would welcome you to join our strong, friendly team.
