About the role:
As an SEN Support Worker, you will provide essential support to students, helping them to engage with their learning and develop important life skills. Your contributions will be crucial in creating a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Responsibilities of the SEN Support Worker:
* Assist students with special educational needs in their daily learning activities.
* Provide emotional and behavioural support to help students thrive.
* Collaborate with teachers to implement tailored support plans.
* Foster a positive and engaging classroom atmosphere.
* Encourage social and emotional development through engagement and interaction.
* Maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour.
Requirements of the SEN Support Worker:
* Previous experience working with students with special educational needs.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* A patient and empathetic approach to student support.
* Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage challenging situations.
* Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
* A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
* Have an updated CV (covering last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
