The ideal candidate will be educated to HND/Degree level in electrical engineering, with several years of demonstrable experience in the development of industrial process equipment. You will be a natural problem-solver and leader, who thrives in a dynamic engineering environment.
Key responsibilities:
* Inspire, lead, and motivate a small multidisciplinary engineering team, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.
* Lead all aspects of the design, development, manufacture, and support of industrial equipment used in production and manufacturing processes.
* Provide technical oversight across multiple engineering disciplines, with a focus on electrical engineering, RF, mechanical systems, and process engineering.
* Serve as a technical authority for the company, ensuring all products meet quality, performance, and compliance standards.
* Drive innovation by troubleshooting existing products, optimising designs, and identifying opportunities for new product lines.
* Develop a deep understanding of the company’s electro-mechanical product range to lead technical discussions with customers and stakeholders.
* Build strong relationships with global customers and partners, ensuring the delivery of technical solutions that align with market demands.
* Support new business proposals at quotation and negotiation stages.
* Participate in commissioning and troubleshooting processes for new equipment.
* Travel internationally as required to strengthen client relationships and oversee project delivery.
1. Key skills and experience:
* Extensive experience in industrial engineering, encompassing the design, manufacture, and support of production/process equipment.
* Power conversion systems, industrial automation, thermal management systems, materials science, electronic control systems and industrial software.
* Electrical systems engineering (e.g., transformers, switches, converters, SMPS).
* Management of 3rd party engineering service providers.
* Demonstrable leadership experience.
Additional skills and experience:
* Control panel design (PLC, HMI, SCADA)
* Pneumatic and hydraulic system design (pick and place).
* Familiarity with RF technology applications in industries such as induction heating, or dielectric welding would be advantageous but not essential.
The opportunity:
This is a unique opportunity to play a critical role in a highly specialised engineering company with a global reach. The Engineering Manager will work closely with the Commercial Director to shape the technical direction of the company, ensure project delivery excellence, and expand Stanelco’s presence in emerging sectors.
