About The Role We are looking for an ambitious and self-starting Brand Manager with a passion for launching NPD and developing great external relationships to help us continue to drive our range of great tasting sweet biscuits, working across Mars Biscuits portfolio. This might be the first you have heard about our partnership with Mars Confectionery. We create, innovate and bake biscuits across the following household brands. Maltesers, Mars, Galaxy, M&M, Bounty & Twix to name just a few. All baking takes place at our UK based bakeries. Our Maltesers Biscuit launch was the biggest biscuit launch of 2020, winning multiple awards. In the last 4 years we have created a £30 million RSV portfolio across UK and International markets – with launches in South Africa and Australia in 2022. The individual should be able to identify and understand consumer insight to support the development of creative solutions which in turn drive consumer preference, ultimately to drive incremental revenues for the Company and our customers & partners. There will be an opportunity to deliver through the line activity, but the focus of the role is delivering a significant pipeline of projects across all channels and markets Main Responsibilities Key responsibilities include leading the development of the 1-3 year vision and strategy brand plan, executing key brand activities, and overseeing NPD launches from ideation to project launch. The Brand Manager will lead cross-functional project teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. They will maintain day-to-day contact with project teams, both FBC and license partners, and deliver against agreed P&L KPIs with regular monthly tracking versus budget and in-year targets. Additionally, the role involves managing brand consumer spend, ensuring timely reporting, tracking, and supplier payments, and leading the overall tracking and reporting of brand performance. Effective management of business variances, such as packaging stocks and write-offs, through close collaboration with operations, and the identification and implementation of cost-based recovery initiatives in partnership with finance teams and bakery sites are also crucial. Adherence to company processes and approval systems is essential. Who We Are Looking For The successful candidate will have experience in FMCG marketing with a branded manufacturer, including new product development from conception to launch and the stage gate process. They should have a proven record of managing cross-functional teams, developing new products, brand plans, packaging design changes, and promotions. Strong commercial acumen, understanding of cost structure, and product and pack architecture are advantageous. Experience in budgetary monitoring of consumer marketing budgets and the ability to build consumer and shopper insights into strategy and plans are required. Experience managing partner and licensing relationships is beneficial but not essential.
