We are seeking an Interim Cemetery & Grounds Team Leader to oversee the daily operations and maintenance of our cemetery grounds. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring that our facilities are respectful, pristine, and welcoming for all visitors. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading a dedicated team, managing schedules, and coordinating activities to ensure the grounds are maintained to the highest standards. The Cemetery & Grounds Team Leader will also be responsible for planning and implementing landscape management strategies, including seasonal planting and maintenance, to enhance the aesthetic appeal and dignity of the cemetery. Additionally, the successful candidate will work closely with other departments to facilitate special events and ensure compliance with safety regulations. This interim position requires a combination of leadership, organization, and horticultural knowledge. Responsibilities
Lead and supervise the cemetery grounds team to ensure effective operations and maintenance.
Develop and implement maintenance schedules for landscaping, burial sites, and facilities.
Coordinate funeral services and other memorial events in partnership with families and relevant stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all aspects of cemetery operations.
Manage budgets and resources effectively to maintain high standards of the grounds and facilities.
Monitor and assess the condition of landscaping and recommend improvements as necessary.
Provide training and support to team members to promote professional development and teamwork.
Requirements
Proven experience in landscape management, grounds maintenance, or a related field.
Demonstrated leadership skills with experience supervising a team.
Strong knowledge of horticulture, landscaping practices, and cemetery operations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with families and team members.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with health and safety regulations pertaining to cemetery and grounds operations.
Valid driver's license and ability to operate grounds maintenance equipment.
Hours Per Week: 37.00
Start Time: 09:00
End Time: 17:30
Pay Per Hour: £20.00
