The role
As an Apprentice Welding Instructor, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will design and deliver the work-based training for the welding apprentices as they complete their apprenticeship.
Day-to-day, you’ll design and deliver Training Schemes of Works to the highest standard, as well as:
1. Collaborative working with Further Education (fe) Provider, supporting the college learning.
2. Support the wellbeing of apprentice, you will provide guidance for their wellbeing, and behaviour and escalate where required.
3. Work alongside the welding engineers you will help design and deliver training to the welding team, ensuring the standards and qualifications are maintained.
4. Work with the early careers lead to design and complete sessions to attract new talent into Babcock through STEM outreach.
5. You will be responsible for all aspects of Health & Safety including instilling the high standards required in their future roles, and keeping apprentices safe.
This role is full time and is based on site at our Bristol site.
Essential experience of the Apprentice Welding Instructor:
6. Knowledge and practical experience of Welding with various processes
7. Knowledge and practical experience of Fabrication and plating techniques
8. Microsoft Packages including Word, PowerPoint, Excel
9. Experience in communicating and presenting to groups of people.
Qualifications for the Apprentice Welding Instructor:
10. NVQ in welding and fabrication or Equivalent
11. Certificate in Education and Training (CTLLS) or equivalent. Or completion within 18months of appointment. desirable
12. CSWIP 3.1 or equivalent (Certification scheme welding inspection personnel) desirable
Security Clearance
13. The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain SC security clearance for this role.
