This role sits in Route Services, a business area that has been created to supply services to our front-line teams and corporate business functions in the safest, most efficient, and effective way.
We are looking for a dynamic procurement professional with extensive procurement experience in defining and delivering high value and complex sourcing projects, working to support our our property stakeholders digital, data and technology stakeholders at Director and C-suite level. Working collaboratively with the other strategic sourcing managers within technology, the role is fast paced and entails:
•the sourcing of business and operational networks
•the sourcing of IT hardware, software, cloud services, data services, delivery and professional services and artificial intelligence (AI) and internet of things (IoT)) capabilities.
•the sourcing of R&D services and innovation
•management of the sourcing pipeline
•engagement with the cabinet office where the relevant spend controls apply

We’re a team of over 20 practitioners, with a great team ethos of supporting and developing each other. We enjoy regular team events together combining an element of learning as well as enjoying each other’s company.
You’ll work closely with your customers and our business subject matter experts to undertake pre-market engagement with the supply chain, draft sourcing strategies and tender documentation. You’ll be the expert in delivering sourcing projects and undertaking complex commercial evaluations, including using your professional knowledge to lead negotiations with suppliers. You will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, be proactive, have in depth experience of the end-to-end procurement process in the public sector, be happy to challenge and be challenged and be prepared to go above and beyond to support our customers.

Accountable for leading the sourcing delivery of business critical and medium to high spend opportunities, working in collaboration with the relevant Strategic Category and Supplier Managers, customers and stakeholders. Sound interested? This is what you will need to have: Essential
1. Experience of IT procurement
2. Educated to a degree standard or equivalent and MCIPS qualified (or equivalent professional body with chartered status)
3. Significant Sourcing experience with a demonstrable track record of savings delivery within an infrastructure or engineering environment
4. Line management experience
5. Solution driven, innovator, cost and value led
6. Proven level of negotiation and dispute resolution skill set
7. Experience with cross-functional collaborative working methods
8. Politically aware, with the ability to use direct and indirect influencing strategies
9. Demonstrable level of problem-solving experience and in large, complex organisations
Desirable
10. Experience of Cabinet Office Technology Spend Controls
11. Detailed knowledge of the UK Rail Industry, including procurement processes in a reclassified environment
