Consultant Psychiatrists – Adults & Children & Adolescents
Matter of Health is seeking experienced Consultant Psychiatrists to join our team on a contractor and fully remote basis, providing specialist assessments, diagnoses, and treatment for adults. This is an opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team offering a whole-health approach to mental health, integrating psychiatry, psychological therapies, nutritional therapy, and fitness interventions to achieve the best outcomes for our patients.
Role Purpose
As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive mental health care for adults. You will conduct thorough psychiatric assessments, formulate diagnoses, and develop holistic treatment plans in collaboration with psychologists, therapists, nutritional therapists, and fitness trainers.
Key Responsibilities: Clinical Assessment & Diagnosis
* Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments for adults.
* Diagnose and formulate treatment plans for a range of mental health conditions, including ADHD, ASD, anxiety disorders, and depression.
Medication Management
* Prescribe and monitor psychiatric medications, adjusting treatment as necessary.
* Provide patients with clear education on medication benefits, risks, and side effects.
Psychological Therapies & Holistic Care
* Consider referrals to psychologists and therapists, nutritional therapists and fitness trainers for evidence-based interventions.
Risk Assessment & Clinical Governance
* Conduct regular risk assessments and develop crisis/safety plans where necessary.
* Adhere to NICE guidelines and ensure high standards of evidence-based practice.
* Maintain professional development as required by GMC registration.
Multidisciplinary & Family Collaboration
* Work closely with therapists, fitness trainers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated care.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
* Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent)
* MRCPsych or equivalent specialist registration
* For adult psychiatrists: Significant experience in adult psychiatry, including ADHD & ASD.
* Strong diagnostic and clinical assessment skills.
* Knowledge of NICE guidelines for mental health management.
* A commitment to a holistic, whole-health approach to patient care.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
* Additional qualifications in neurodevelopmental disorders or other specialist areas.
* Experience in clinical supervision and clinical audits.
* Experience in research or clinical trials.
* Leadership experience, including mentoring junior staff.
Additional Considerations
* Compliance with GMC regulations, including revalidation and CPD.
* Designated Body for revalidation already arranged
* Participation in professional development and clinical supervision.
* Engagement with regular PDP groups to support ongoing learning and best practices.
