The Detail
We are seeking a talented and ambitious Senior Quantity Surveyor/Commercial Manager to join our team.
We specialise in providing bespoke services to assist our clients with their land development and project delivery needs, building and maintaining strong relationships and acting as a trusted partner.
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Senior Quantity Surveyor/Commercial Manager who possesses strong leadership skills and dedicated to providing an excellent service to join our growing and successful project team.
We are seeking applications from candidates who are degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Cost Management, or a related field, and preferably a Member of the RICS.

The Role
As Senior Quantity Surveyor/Commercial Manager you will take overall responsibility for multiple projects, undertake pre and post contract responsibilities, manage a support team of Quantity Surveyors and Project Managers as well as running your own projects from a portfolio ranging from strategic infrastructure delivery for residential consortium schemes and a mix of residential and commercial projects.
All our clients are considered key accounts, and as such require high levels of service to maintain and expand on the services we provide. Building and maintaining our client relationships is key to the vision of the Company and enhancing the intake of future projects and new clients will be a key element to the role.
Many projects are long term client work, either negotiated or won as a part of a services framework. Significant work is repeat business from clients such as PLC Housebuilders, Residential Consortiums, Private Developers, Land Agents, Landowners, and Investors.
We are looking for a candidate with aspirations to assist in the growth of the business along with the growth of their own position and prosperity within the business. There is a genuine opportunity for the right candidate to progress their career prospects to the point of Directorship and beyond.
The role will be based at the office in Leicestershire, with flexible working options.
Responsibilities and Duties
Some of the Senior Quantity Surveyors/Commercial Managers responsibilities will be, but not limited to:
* Lead on a range of projects, supervise the commercial team and assist them in fulfilling their potential.
* Principal commercial point of contact with the project client and the other consultants on the project team.
* Work independently and take responsibility for delivery of the commercial services across the business.
* Undertake, lead, and manage a range of pre and post contract quantity surveying duties such as cost estimating, BOQ production, feasibility studies, tender documentation and contract documentation production, valuations, cost reporting and final accounts.
* Responsible for allocated client accounts and build relationships with to ensure satisfaction with the services provided and nurturing new work opportunities.
* Actively seek responsibility and accountability.
* Act as Employer’s Agent on Design & Build projects.
* Champion and maintain a company Quality Management System the delivery of all services to clients.
* Train, assist and mentor Quantity Surveying colleagues.
* Actively seek new client and project opportunities, promoting the services of the Company, including attendance and involvement at appropriate networking and marketing events.

Desired Skills and Experience
Candidates will be able to demonstrate the following attributes:
* MRICS preferred but not a necessity, sponsorship will be available
* A BSc/MSc in Quantity Surveying, Construction Cost Management or similar
* Experience in running own projects quantity surveying and/or project management from a client or Consultancy background.
* Experience in running projects independently.
* Strategically minded with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Excellent organisational and managerial skills.
* High levels of attention to detail and commitment to quality.
* Being commercially savvy with good negotiation skills and ability to manage commercial strategies.
* Driving licence. Willingness to travel to sites across the region as required.
