Welcome & Service Assistants are the first friendly faces visitors meet at our properties. You'll provide a warm welcome, information, support, and excellent customer service at all times. You'll work across two properties: Ilam Park and Dovedale National Nature Reserve. You'll be working with a varied team of staff and dedicated volunteers to deliver an excellent experience to all visitors.Because you'll be working across two properties, please think about how you'd be able to get here for work, before you apply for this job. This role is an hourly paid, fixed term role. Wherever possible we aim to offer a consistent working pattern, but we're looking for flexibility as it may be necessary for us to alter this pattern from time to time to suit the needs of the business. We'd give you as much notice of this as possible. You'll be required to work regular weekends to support us during peak visitor times, including bank holidays and school holidays. For this role, you'll need to complete our online assessment instead of using a C.V. or online application form. This will help us understand more about your strengths and give you more information on the role. What it's like to work here At Dovedale, you'll work as part of an organized team of Welcome and Service Assistants as well as our Welcome Volunteers. The environment is bustling with lots of opportunities to engage with visitors about the landscape, local landmarks, wildlife, and our conservation work in the White Peak. You'll also support car parking payments via cash and card, requiring you to follow cash handling procedures from start of day setup and delivery to end of day processes. At Ilam Park, you'll work alongside our Welcome volunteer team, or alone, to provide excellent customer service at our entrance, engaging with all visitors and bringing it to life. You will also assist visitors with car parking payments when needed and maintain a welcoming and well-presented site. There are opportunities at both sites to work with our Visitor Experience team in helping deliver our popular trails and seasonal events. You may also have the opportunity to support at our other sites across the Peak District. What you'll be doing Day to day, you'll deliver a great all-round customer service experience. You'll be on hand answering queries and listen to what our visitors need so you can share the right information. Your role is to make sure our visitors have the best day they can.You'll have the chance to be involved in different aspects of the visitor experience, from key property events to social media promotion. Your role includes regular presentation and cleaning duties to ensure our sites are presentable, including our toilet facilities.
