Description Wood Digital Consulting (DC) is recruiting for an Senior Accountant to support our Sheet Metal & Fabrication team. The Senior Accountant will ensure all accounting entries within the individual’s area of control (i.e. project, contract, service line) are recorded in an accurate and timely manner. This involves the provision of timely reporting of financial data internally to business stakeholders and externally to the client. Furthermore, financial reporting will extend to forecasts, budgets and a “no surprises” outlook, together with ad-hoc financial analysis. Responsibilities Full responsibility for all financial matters including accurate and timely completion of monthly reporting, optimising financial performance for respective service line Lead end to end project accounting activities for the respective service line and preparation of monthly financial reports covering P&L, AR / Unbilled, Backlog and utilisation including validation of EPM reporting at month ends Preparation of annual budget, forecasts and rolling forecasts in conjunction with management, including validation / challenge over backlog, inputs from BD and operations Responsible to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll of the legal entity including review and authorisations for payroll, supplier, intercompany and Ad-hoc payments Responsible for preparation and data extraction for quarter VAT return info to EY and liaise with EY and tax managers for VAT reporting Management of invoices to ensure they are prepared in a timely manner and in accordance with the commercial terms of the contract Preparation and presentation of weekly utilisation report to the business managers and operational leadership team Focus on cash collection, optimisation of DSO as well as leading invoicing function to ensure timely preparation and submission of relevant invoices Ensure all relevant finance reconciliations are prepared, analysed and reviewed on a monthly basis in a timely manner including critical accounts, this also includes daily bank reconciliation Engagement with external, internal and client auditors to support successful completion of audits Ensure that an effective control environment exists through compliance with all Group control frameworks, policies and procedures as applicable Responsible for identifying and highlighting opportunities for continuous improvement within the contract and sharing of best practice within the function Execution of various ad hoc financial analysis and tasks as and when required Qualifications Further education through College or University with a recognised accounting qualification Preferably working towards CIMA / ACCA / CPA or equivalent Good level of accounting experience is required Proficient user of Excel People supervision and management skills Good commercial knowledge Good systems experience (e.g. Oracle, EPM, FCCS, Planning) Ability to form and maintain strong working relationships Shows willingness to make improvements and shares best practice Good communication skills both verbal and written Ability to discuss issues clearly and concisely at all levels within the organisation
