Edinburgh College of Art is looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable creative technologist who enjoys getting hands on with digital manufacture. If you have considerable experience of working with 3D printing, laser cutting or know your way around 2D + 3D modelling and design - we want to hear from you! You should expect to work in a vibrant artistic environment on a range of creative projects, supporting students and staff with teaching, research and imaginative project work across a broad range of disciplines. Working closely with a wider ITTS Digital Making Teams, you will find yourself pushing the limits of technology and making imagination a reality.
The Opportunity:
You will join a team of dedicated and professional technical staff supporting interdisciplinary teaching and research. You will have experience in and practical understanding of the technologies within digital making and a passion for helping others make use of them to challenge, create, and make change happen.
Your skills and attributes for success:
Demonstrable experience in the use and application of digital making processes and equipment.
An inquisitive attitude and desire to learn new skills and technologies to tackle challenges as they arise.
Experience of instructing users on a one-to-one basis and in large and small groups with high quality customer service and excellent communication skills.
Understanding of and ability to apply relevant H&S policies and procedures in a busy technical workshop with students as the primary user.
Experience of working within a team, ability to follow instructions and contribute to team initiatives.
