Commercial Manager – Role and Responsibilities
1. Marketing activity to develop leads (trade shows, exhibitions, marketing literature, etc.)
2. Write bids and proposals to turn those leads into orders
3. Be a pivotal point of contact for the pre-sale customer, working in close alignment with all supporting departments and functions internally
4. Establish and deliver a robust project plan in accordance with the customer to hand over to the project management team once an order has been secured
5. Use market knowledge to anticipate change and help the business to adapt and seize commercial opportunities
6. Achieve favourable commercial terms on orders
Commercial Manager – Skills and Abilities
1. Strong business acumen, always looking for commercial opportunities, with experience of project management, commercial management, and proposal writing
2. 5+ years experience in a similar commercial role at an engineering or manufacturing company
3. An engineering qualification
4. Ability to liaise with all levels of management on a professional level
5. Organisational skills are essential as you will be responsible for managing your own workload
6. Be prepared to travel and occasionally work unsociable hours to suit the business
