As theProject Manager – Staff Accommodation, you will play a crucial role in managing the planning and delivery of temporary and permanent staff accommodation for the new hospital development. This includes overseeing the demolition of existing facilities and constructing new accommodation units, ensuring the smooth integration of services and minimal disruption to hospital operations. Your leadership will be essential in ensuring the programme is delivered on time, within budget, and meets high standards of safety, sustainability, and quality.
Who We’re Looking For:
We are seeking a highly experienced project manager with a proven track record in managing large-scale capital projects, ideally within healthcare or a public sector environment. You will have experience with business case development, governance processes, and a collaborative approach to working with partner organisations. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and drive project success.
• Lead the strategic delivery of the construction and commercial elements of the Enabling Works Programme, ensuring alignment with NHS sustainability and Net Zero targets.
• Oversee the development and management of project teams, ensuring effective delivery and adherence to best practices.
• Manage procurement processes for construction and commercial contracts, ensuring alignment with government frameworks and best value for money.
• Develop and implement integrated governance and risk management plans for the programme.
Project deliverables specific to this role
• To reinstate N+1 resilience, provide access to 20MVA of electrical power to the site to run the New Hospital and meet the Trust’s New Hospital Programme objectives. This covers both construction and ongoing operation.
• Service diversions and temporary protections. Provision of site wide subterranean engineering infrastructure including buried HV & LV power cables, data & telecoms and drainage, rerouting incoming supplies and provision of new fire hydrant and medical gas runs.
