The post holder will have operational responsibility for ensuring NHS Tayside’s fleet is efficient and fit for purpose, and that fleet vehicles meet all regulatory and legislative requirements for road worthiness. You will ensure that decisions in relation to fleet vehicles are aligned with local and national decarbonisation strategies. NHS Tayside has a fleet of c. 250 vehicles, comprising of commercial vehicles, cars, agricultural vehicles and tugs deployed across clinical and support services. As such, you should have previous working experience of vehicle fleet operations at service / organisational level within a large complex organisation. The successful candidate should possess: SCQF level 7 or equivalent in a business-related subject or have gained equivalent experience in a work setting. A full clean driving licence (Category B) is essential. Highly effective interpersonal skills, including negotiation and influencing skills. As the named holder of the Goods Vehicle Operator’s Licence for NHS Tayside, the successful candidate must hold the Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence. If you do not already possess this qualification, you must commit to successfully obtaining this within the first six months of coming into post. We will support you in undertaking the relevant course. You will be required to achieve the mandatory Induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland and to comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment.
