An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Logistics Operative to join the team. As the Logistics Operative, you will work alongside staff on site at the hospital to enable safe transportation of patients when required and to help support the wider facilities team. You will work with the facilities team to receive, process, and distribute incoming stock deliveries. You will relocate and install the new equipment to the desired location, ensuring all equipment is in excellent condition.
Main duties of the job
1. Provide transport to and from hospital appointments for patients (this can sometimes stretch far & wide across the breadth of the UK, although infrequent).
2. Pre-calling patients to introduce yourself & confirm booking(s).
3. Collection and delivery of surgical instruments from each hospital to the local sterilisation service provider.
4. Liaise with bookings team & programme transport routes.
5. Ensure safe packing and delivery of equipment and stock.
6. Receive delivery of stock and equipment on site, booking in stock received and checking the delivery notes.
7. Relocate or receive new equipment, sometimes installing items into desired locations.
8. Undertake minor maintenance/odd jobs (within capabilities) at sites to ensure the facility and all equipment are in excellent condition.
9. Ensure clinic hospital checks are carried out on behalf of the facilities team, i.e., water temperature checks, ensuring waste bins are collected by service providers and supporting the clinic services.
10. Use basic admin (Excel, Word & Outlook email) in corresponding, updating & logging trips.
11. Provide support to the facilities team.
12. Checking over vehicle for faults or issues & relaying back their findings to line manager or vehicle fault sheet.
13. Cleaning & replenishing fuels & fluids in the vehicle.
14. Observing risks or faults which may be occurring both on and off site and reporting these findings to the relevant individuals.
