Initially to work fully supervised, learning how to deliver various life safety system engineering works as directed by the office and field management team in accordance with industry standards and our company procedures Upon competency assessment; To deliver various life safety system engineering works (Maintenance, Fault Finding, Repairs, Small Modifications & Additions) as directed by the office and field management team in accordance with industry standards and our company procedures Upon competency assessment; To partake in the Company Emergency Support Rota (Typically 1 week in 5) and provide field repair works in accordance with industry standards and our company procedures To accurately complete electronic reporting in accordance with our Company procedures & British Standard Statutory requirements To continuously improve personal work skills through theoretical and practical in field and external industry regulated training To always present and conduct oneself appropriately, given the nature and importance of our customers. Fluent in English, ideally as a first language Fully accepting of our outline role requirements, as set out within our prospective employee questionnaire Highly motivated, Punctual & Smart A logical thinker, able to follow clear instructions & methodologies Must have a strong desire to learn and be able to retain knowledge A fluent and confident communicator, both verbally and in writing A safe, confident and willing driver, holding a full valid UK Driving Licence with a maximum of 3 penalty points At least 3 years’ experience of maintaining, fault-finding, modifying, extending and commissioning a wide variety of life safety systems types A good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel & Outlook A general interest in electrical / electronic engineering A desire to learn and develop new work skills, always aiming to perform at the highest levels, so that they may be considered for future promotion and career development. Qualifications: FIA and / or IFEDA competency course passes in Fire Alarm Design, Maintenance, Installation & Commissioning Previous detailed knowledge and understanding of the relevant statutory requirements for working on life safety equipment, such as fire alarms, emergency lighting, voice alarms, fire extinguishers. Previous detailed knowledge, understanding and experience of working on life safety equipment manufactured by Gent, Advanced Electronics, Apollo, Hochiki, Kentec, Baldwin Boxhall, MultiIfax, Siemens, GFE, C-tec, Intak, Protec, Notifier, Morley IAS.
