We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Area Technical Sales Manager to join our team and drive sales in London and the surrounding areas.
Job Description:
The Area Technical Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies to increase market share and revenue within the assigned territory. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electro-mechanical systems, with a preference for those with demonstrable knowledge or qualification in lift technology and products. Other trades mechanical/electrical experience will be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve sales targets and objectives.
* Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the assigned territory.
* Generate and follow up on high quality sales leads.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers.
* Provide technical support and product knowledge to customers, ensuring they understand the benefits and applications of our products at sales stage.
* Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to customers.
* Collaborate with the internal team to ensure customer satisfaction and timely delivery of products.
* Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth.
* Prepare and submit regular sales reports and forecasts to management.
* Support customer event arrangement and delivery.
* Identify and communicate new product potential for development by Product team.
* Understand legislation and regulation changes to enable sales promotions and targeted product placements.
* Develop opportunity for commercial terms agreement in securing long term, mutually beneficial business.
Qualifications:
* Proven experience or qualification in technical sales, preferably within the electro-mechanical industry.
* Demonstrable knowledge or qualification of lift installations and products is highly desirable.
Key Skills:
* Technical Expertise: A deep understanding of electro-mechanical systems/lift installations is crucial. This includes knowledge of product specifications, installation processes, and troubleshooting.
* Sales Acumen: Strong sales skills, including prospecting, lead generation, negotiation, and closing deals. Understanding market trends and customer needs is essential.
* Communication Skills: The ability to explain complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner to customers with varying levels of technical knowledge. This includes both verbal and written communication.
* Customer Relationship Management (CRM): Proficiency in using CRM software to manage customer interactions, track sales activities, and analyse customer data to improve sales strategies.
* Analytical Thinking: The ability to analyse market trends, sales data, and customer feedback to make informed decisions and develop effective sales strategies.
* Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to identify and resolve issues that may arise during the sales process or after product installation.
* Adaptability and Flexibility: The ability to adapt to changing market conditions, competitor activity, customer needs, and new technologies.
* Product Demonstration: Skills in demonstrating products to potential customers, highlighting their features and benefits.
* Negotiation Techniques: Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms and close deals.
* Interpersonal Skills: Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
* Ready to travel: Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the role needs.
