Applicants will be required to assist in the delivery of a high-quality education and care service to pre-5 children and their families, and to work as part of the management team to assist in the effective management of the nursery.
The main duties of the post include:
1. Planning and implementing an appropriate curriculum for children aged 3-5 years, including assessment, recording, and reporting on children's progress;
2. Supporting staff in curriculum planning, assessment, and observation practices;
3. Monitoring the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs);
4. Developing parental participation;
5. Promoting collaboration with other agencies;
6. Contributing to the management of the service.
You must hold a relevant practice qualification in early learning and childcare, such as HNC Childhood Practice at SCQF Level 7 or SVQ Social Services (Children and Young People) at SCQF Level 7, or equivalent.
Experience in working within an early learning and childcare setting, planning and delivering an inclusive curriculum, and documenting children's learning in line with national and local guidance is essential.
Knowledge of current local and national curriculum guidance relevant to early learning and childcare, including GIRFEC, Child Protection, and Inclusion, is required. Additionally, knowledge of child development, planning, assessment processes, health and safety requirements, and risk assessments is essential.
All applicants must meet the registration requirements of SSSC as a Practitioner of Day Care of Children Service within the designated timeline.
