We are seeking passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistants to support students and assist teachers in delivering high-quality education. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to facilitate a positive learning environment, offer individualized support to students, and contribute to the overall development of the school community.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist the teacher in planning, preparing, and delivering lessons.
2. Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with learning needs, including those with special educational needs (SEN).
3. Support students' emotional and social development, including encouraging positive behavior and promoting inclusion.
4. Supervise students during classroom activities, playtime, and extracurricular activities.
5. Help students develop their literacy, numeracy, and other subject-specific skills.
6. Assist with classroom management and maintain an organized and safe learning environment.
7. Contribute to the development and delivery of student assessments.
8. Prepare teaching resources and learning materials as directed by the teacher.
9. Communicate effectively with parents and colleagues, providing feedback on student progress where necessary.
10. Participate in school meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Relevant teaching assistant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant certification).
2. Previous experience working in a classroom or similar educational setting (preferred but not essential).
3. Strong understanding of child development and behavior management techniques.
4. Ability to work as part of a team and adapt to different teaching styles.
5. Good communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.
6. Passion for supporting students and helping them reach their potential.
7. A positive, empathetic, and flexible approach to working with children.
Desirable Skills:
1. Experience supporting children with special educational needs (SEN).
2. Knowledge of safeguarding practices and procedures.
3. First Aid certification (or willingness to undertake training).
4. Understanding of the local education system in Swindon.
5. Proficiency in ICT and the use of educational technology.
