Salary: Grade 3, £16,682 - £17,212 per annum. £12.45 - £12.85 per hour
30 hours per week, term time plus 1 week working 39 weeks per year
Temporary until: contract will end whenever the child with SEN needs leaves.
The Governors and Headteacher are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, supportive One-to-One Support Assistant (30 hours) to work closely with a pupil who requires additional academic support and on occasions displays challenging behaviour.

Key Responsibilities:
As a One-to-One Support Assistant, you will:
* Provide Individualised Support: Offer personalised assistance to a specific pupil with additional academic requirements, ensuring their unique needs are met.
* Behavioural Support: Employ effective strategies to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
* Academic Assistance: Collaborate with teachers to implement tailored academic support plans, addressing the pupil's specific learning requirements.
* Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess and document the pupil's academic progress and behavioural development, providing feedback to the teaching staff and parents.
* Communication: Maintain open and clear communication channels with teachers, parents, and other professionals involved in the pupil's care and education.
Collaboration:
* Work collaboratively with the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) and other support staff to implement interventions and support strategies effectively.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within an educational setting.
* Understanding of strategies for managing challenging behaviour and promoting positive reinforcement.
* Knowledge of academic support techniques and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual needs.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Relevant qualifications in education or special needs support are desirable.
