We are recruiting for our client who are a well established rapidly growing engineering and IT business. They are looking for a talented and passionate Finance Manager to join their team, with a clear path to grow into a more strategic and high-level role. As they continue to expand, this position will evolve, offering increasing responsibilities in financial leadership including budgeting, and forecasting. You will need to be AAT Level 4 qualified. In the short term, you will oversee day-to-day finance operations, managing one other team member, while contributing to the development and improvement of them and the department. Manage credit control, including chasing payments, sending monthly statements, and handling aged debt. Reconcile bank accounts and allocate payments from various platforms (BACS, PayPal, Square). Prepare and process refunds and payment requests. Generate monthly reports on commission chargebacks. Manage petty cash logs and resolve customer disputes related to payment platforms (Square, PayPal). Set up and manage new direct debit instructions and correct submission errors. Submit and process direct debit collections and handle cancellations or unpaid requests. Work closely with the technical team to improve direct debit systems and ensure payment accuracy. Provide monthly direct debit analysis and report figures to senior leadership. Support the finance team in day-to-day operations, including card payment processing, customer invoicing, and account updates. Lead the recruitment, training, and development of the finance team. Conduct staff appraisals, manage holiday requests, and perform return-to-work interviews. Deal with customer queries and complaints with professionalism and efficiency. About you: Strong finance and leadership qualities and the ability to manage and grow a small finance team. AAT level 4 qualified The ability to handle both day-to-day financial operations and transition into higher-level strategic responsibilities. A proactive positive attitude and desire to continuously improve processes. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders.
