Job summary Applications are invited for a Senior Training Fellow specialising in Bariatric Surgery within the General Surgery department. This post will provide comprehensive senior support to the Bariatric surgical service. The UHNM team consists of 5 bariatric surgeons performing 300-400 primary and revisional bariatric procedures annually. In addition the Team performs high volumes of primary and revisional anti-reflux and hiatal surgery. The Unit has returned to it's pre-COVID surgical capacity. The UHNM Fellowship programme has a good reputation for providing excellent, comprehensive training in all aspects of bariatric surgery (including acute complications and admissions) and opportunities for clinical research, with recent Fellows successfully obtaining Consultant Bariatric Roles. Main duties of the job Clinical responsibilities will include attending outpatient clinics, inpatient and day case theatre sessions, doing ward rounds as well as participating in specialist activities. Theatre activity would include both assisting in surgery as well as undertaking procedures under supervision or independently as appropriate.
