At Peacock Technology we develop robotics and artificial intelligence systems to help food producers reduce their labour requirements, improve long term food sustainability, and improve animal welfare. We provide a range of products using robotics, machine vision and sensing technologies to monitor cow behaviour and provide farmer insights for disease prevention, welfare, and sustainability. Our multidisciplined development team includes engineers specialising in software, electronics, mathematics, and mechanical engineering. We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic, talented, and self-motivated candidate to take ownership for the timely completion of Customer sales orders. This will include the build, configuration, testing, consolidation, and final packaging of all kit required to fulfil orders across our full product range.
Job summary
The ideal candidate will have a focused methodical approach to work, applying high attention to detail in the build, assembly, test and despatch of our products.
What sort of tasks will you undertake within the Manufacturing Technician Role?
1. Assemble, prepare, and package product to match order.
2. Arrange shipment of completed order using approved carriers.
3. Maintain records of completed orders including Ship sheets, serial numbers etc.
4. Complete product programming and testing.
5. Assembly and testing of build to stock items.
6. Realtime escalation of issues to team members to enable timely resolution.
7. Support with reliability testing of received product.
8. Support with design & verification testing on new and existing products.
9. Assist with cycle counts of warehouse to ensure inventory accuracy is maintained.
10. Assist in the design and development of test equipment and methods.
To be considered for interview you will have:
1. Full UK driving license.
2. Manual dexterity relating to hand tools, power tools etc, used during the mechanical assembly of hardware.
3. Familiarity of electronic components and wiring principles.
4. Computer literate with a general understanding of networking.
5. Quality conscious with a high attention to detail.
6. Self-motivated, flexible, and able to work to deadlines.
Other skills that would be advantageous:
1. Hands on electronics skills i.e. soldering, crimping advantageous.
2. Documentation: creation and management.
3. Systematic and able to operate with all levels of the organisation.
4. Methodical worker.
5. Good communicator, happy to work with other team members.
6. Interest in the dairy industry useful.
