Location: Based from Kirkby-in-Ashfield, with regular travel to project sites across the South of England

D7 Recruitment is proud to be partnering with one of the UK's leading ground engineering companies in the search for an experienced Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor. This is a key position offering hands-on involvement across major infrastructure and housing projects, with a focus on safety, compliance, and proactive engagement.
About the Role
This position is based out of the company's head office in Kirkby-in-Ashfield, with regular travel required to sites located throughout the South of England. As the primary point of contact for Health, Safety, and Environmental matters within the Piling, Housing, and Rail divisions, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining a strong safety culture across all levels of operation.
Reporting to the Senior HSE Manager, you'll have autonomy to manage your workload, plan site visits, and support both on-site and office-based teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Ensure compliance with UK Health & Safety legislation, CDM regulations, and company policies
2. Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments
3. Deliver toolbox talks and lead safety briefings and meetings
4. Investigate and report on incidents, near misses, and ensure lessons are communicated
5. Provide day-to-day HSE guidance to project and site management teams
6. Support the development and review of RAMS
7. Promote a proactive health and safety culture, directly engaging with the workforce
8. Liaise with clients and stakeholders on all HSE matters
9. Support pre-construction risk identification and compliance planning
Required Skills & Experience
1. Minimum 5 years' experience in a Health & Safety advisory role within construction, civil engineering, or rail
2. NEBOSH National General Certificate or NEBOSH Construction Certificate
3. Strong knowledge of CDM regulations and UK Health & Safety law
4. Valid CSCS card
5. Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel to project sites in the South
6. Strong written and verbal communication skills
7. IT proficient (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
1. PTS (Personal Track Safety)
2. Temporary Works awareness
3. PUWER trained
4. CertIOSH or working towards chartership
5. Knowledge of FM (Facilities Management) compliance
