Are you looking for a new challenge?
Do you want to become a valued member of a vital health care team?
The Department of Cellular Pathology provides a diagnostic service to the Hospitals and General Practitioners in Leicestershire. The department is a busy one, receiving approximately 60,000 specimens per year and has a number of full-time, permanent biomedical assistant vacancies.
As a Biomedical Assistant you will be part of a professional team and will assist scientific and medical staff in our laboratories at Leicester Royal Infirmary, Leicester General and Glenfield hospitals. Main duties will involve specimen reception, data entry, preparation of samples and general housekeeping tasks in this important aspect of healthcare.
Previous experience of laboratory work isnotrequired as full training will be given.
The successful candidate will have a broad general education to GCSE level or equivalent and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Every specimen requires the same high level of attention to detail and care so experience in high volume, repetitive working environments will be a distinct advantage.
This is not a Biomedical Scientist training post and therefore not an ideal position for trainee biomedical scientists.
This application will close once sufficient applications have been received. This can happen quickly, therefore early application is advised.
Our new strategy, developed with the support and feedback of colleagues, patients, and partners, is our compass for the next seven years (2023-2030).
We have four primary goals:
• high-quality care for all,
• being a great place to work,
• partnerships for impact, and
• research and education excellence
And we will embed health equality in all we do - taking active steps to reduce the avoidable differences in healthcare that some people face, working in partnership with communities.
Our strategy is underpinned by new values and we will work to ensure they are an everyday reality for all:
• we are compassionate,
• we are proud,
• we are inclusive, and
• we are one team
This is an exciting moment as we look to the future with clarity on what we already do well and where we need to focus our energies to make an even bigger difference for the people we serve.
