What You'll Be Doing as a Shift Engineer with Ocado Logistics:
Maintaining and Optimising:Conducting planned and reactive maintenance across the site, ensuring everyone’s accuracy and safety. Proactively identifying and implementing improvements to enhance machine reliability and performance - making sure our thousands of customers receive their shopping on time and in the best quality.
Troubleshooting and Repairing:Things inevitably break down and your role will involve diagnosing and resolving any equipment breakdowns efficiently, keeping our automated systems running smoothly and safely.
Data Analysis and Reporting:Monitoring and analysing data to identify trends and implement solutions that improve our overall MHE performance. Whilst, maintaining and keeping detailed records of work activities, parts used, and training to ensure we continuously improve.
Collaboration and Communication:Your role is pivotal to our Inbound, Outbound, and other support teams - aligning engineering activities with operational needs. So you will need to be confident communicating effectively with colleagues and external contractors.
Continuous Improvement:Contribute to the development of our planned maintenance system, propose innovative ideas, and participate in projects to enhance warehouse and engineering functions.
Safety and Standards:It goes without saying that you will need to ensure all maintenance activities are conducted safely and to the highest standards, maintaining a clean and organised work environment.
Team Development:Assisting in developing team skills and knowledge sharing to ensure we are all the best we can possibly be.
What We're Looking For:
A strong technical background in automation hardware and software, demonstrated by:
* HNC Engineering or equivalent, or
* A relevant Degree with applied learning, or
* An Engineering Technician Apprenticeship, or
* Manufacturers PLC training, or
* Electrical and/or mechanical skills (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent), ideally gained in an FMCG environment.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly.
* Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
* Familiarity with Control Systems (desirable).
* Self-motivation, consistency, and the ability to work at pace.
* Computer literacy and experience with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
* Physical fitness to safely perform engineering maintenance activities.
* Proficient English language skills for understanding safety information and technical manuals.
* Experience in an Engineering Service Support role within an automated production environment.
