If so, we’d love to hear from you The Role: We’re seeking a nurturing and proactive SEND Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a pupil with ASD in a welcoming primary school in NG5. Starting on 22nd April, this full-time role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact, helping a child thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. What You’ll Do: Provide tailored, 1:1 support for a child with ASD throughout the school day. Implement strategies to promote communication, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour. Collaborate closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to adapt learning activities. Nurture a supportive and inclusive learning environment. Build a trusting relationship with the child to encourage confidence and engagement. What We’re Looking For: Experience working with children with ASD, ideally in a school setting. Understanding of SEND strategies, including visual aids, sensory breaks, and de-escalation techniques. A patient, compassionate approach with excellent communication skills. Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, CACHE, or equivalent) are desirable. Why Join Class Mate?
